WOW !!  The outdoor activities available to our KAMO Kids are nothing short of breathtaking.  The Indianhead Chapter is located in Northwestern Wisconsin near the Blue Diamond Recreation Area. The name “Blue Diamond” was chosen because of the more than 100 spring-fed lakes in this immediate area that sparkle like blue diamonds. There are also many miles of rivers and streams for excellent trout fishing and canoeing, thousands of acres of public forests, hundreds of miles of groomed snowmobile trails as well as many miles of ATV trails, cross country trails, snow shoe trails and hiking trails.  Some of the lakes include Potato, Island, Chain, McCann, Clear, Amacoy, Round, Long, Holcombe, Pine, Sand, Axhandle, as well as many others.  The lakes are teeming with many different types of fish including, muskies, walleye, northern, bass and pan fish.  The area is also one of Wisconsin's premier hunting areas for all types of wildlife.

For the hiking enthusiast, we’re adjacent to the Wisconsin Chippewa Moraine Ice Age Park, and the Flambeau Reclaimed Mine area, both offering many miles of some of the best hiking trails in Wisconsin. We also share the Blue Hills recreational area, located between Rusk County and Rice Lake, WI., named for the bluish color of the forested hillsides when seen through the mist. In the winter, the beautiful Blue Hills are blanketed in snow, providing cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and downhill skiing.

CLICK on any topic for additional information.  Please note that we have FOUR Primary Pages available to visit from this Home Page:  Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter wherein pictures and information relative to activities conducted during those time periods will be posted; with the most recent activities shown first.  We started posting with Winter, and will be posting Events as they occur throughout 2010.  Older information is available on the "Photos of Recent Events Page" which is being converted to individual chapter Home Pages.  In addition to Events, K.A.M.O. offers One-On-One opportunities for Kids; see the page for one-on-ones. Older information will be deleted eventually, in the interest of conserving resources.  We will continue to look for ways to enhance our site, and best options to provide information to our KIDS and Friends.
