Indianhead Chapter has it's Third Annual Float Trip on the Flambeau River
The July 17th, 2009 Float Trip at Flaters Resort kicked off at 9:00 A.M. and went great, although several members thought the boats “should have had wheels“ due to the low water. Joe Flater, of Flater's Resort, Holcombe, WI and a member of KAMO, provided five boats and the fishing crew of 10 kids (4 girls, and six boys) started down the river. It took a long time to shuttle the cars. Lot’s of fish got caught and quite a few were lost, including some big ones, of course. One lost fish “towed a boat upstream“ for awhile before making it‘s escape. After the event, kids were already clamoring to be on the next trip. Joe Flater’s Shore Lunch of fish and potatoes fried up on the spot was really great, and enjoyed by all Kids and Mentors.
