Rationale for Position: KAMO is a Wisconsin-based, 501 C 3 non-profit all volunteer youth outdoor mentoring group. There are chapters in La Crosse, Baraboo, Florence, Poynette, New Lisbon, and Beaver Dam The organization began in 2007 with three chapters, has grown to 6 chapters, but has struggled to grow beyond that.
KAMO?s mission is to provide outdoor experiences for area youth and their families that will help them develop an appreciation for nature, become stewards of our resources, and become outdoor sports enthusiasts. The youth served are generally between 9 and 15 years of age. Parents are encouraged to participate in our activities.
KAMO has an excellent reputation in their service areas and receives financial support from individuals and organizations in their communities. There is an increasing number of children struggling with physical and mental health issues and an increasing recognition that time spent outdoors benefits human health.
KAMO members feel that the organization has accomplished a great deal with the people that it has and is ready to boost membership in existing chapters and open a few new chapters in Wisconsin at a time when volunteers are difficult to come by.

Position Description: The candidate will initially have to learn about the group?s background, activities, and procedures through studying online materials including the kamokids.org website, Facebook, KAMO?s procedural and bylaws documents, and talking with people in KAMO leadership positions throughout the state. The candidate will be under the supervision of Mr. Michael Brown, La Crosse resident and a leader of the KAMO organization to determine and put into effect strategies intended to attract volunteers.

Requirements of Candidate: Familiarity with social media and marketing techniques. Excellent communication and organizational skills, promptness, and reliability. Must be detail, goal, and deadline oriented. Ability to follow up independently as well as work effectively with a team.
